Old time member here, may have reregistered a few years ago, but I was once active back in back in the 90s and learned quite a lot, so now I have a small issue that maybe someone here can help me with.
I recently cut the cord with DirecTV and moved on to youtube, etc. I have a 55 in Samsung curved tv and a Bose Solo sound system, connected via digital optical cable. I cannot get the tv remote to control the Bose system and currently have to control my volume with the Bose remote. In the tv sound settings I have selected the digital opticsetting but I cannot get the brand option to display.
Some searching results instruct me to select the "d.in on the source button" (I'm assuming on the Bose remote) but I don't have any type of display to follow any other instructions.
I'm trying to avoid programming the Bose remote to the tv because I'm not sure I can control the streaming with it.
Am I missing something here or is it just not an option?
