I'm not sure about this, but it's something to try.

It is possible that the charger and remote are not connecting well. This is especially true if the LEDs change when you rock the remote in the cradle.

In this case, take a pencil eraser and rub it over the charger contacts on the bottom of the remote. This may solve your problem.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
