I've been using more and more of the Ubiquiti in-wall access points. True, I mount them at outlet level and they are not as potent or well located as a ceiling access point, but the in-room access point is more effective than a more potent access point several rooms distant. These are PoE and I need to have wires in place or be able to run wires in order to avoid the mess of local power injector wiring. If there is an in place network port it is a short task to replace the port with an in-wall.
In very difficult situations the in-walls will mesh. I had a situation where the office had good wireless coverage from the next room, but the garden was not covered. Since the office overlooked the garden and running wires anywhere near the garden or the office was not in the cards, a meshed in-wall in the office painlessly gave the garden reasonable (not stellar) coverage.
