We run 16/4 speaker wire to the majority of our shades. Three reasons: -Extra conductors if something is damaged -Extra conductors if you have to relocate the wireless dongle -Wire size is typically good up to 200'. Any more than that, you probably have a transformer located in a different wiring closet.
