I wouldn't do it. You can be trendy when dressing but you can throw your clothes away if the trend changes. Do you really want to rip your walls open if this is just a fade? Seems crazy to me....
Plus you're stuck with whatever that company sells. Want a decorative fixture in your hallway? Sorry, we only have one option for a surface mount ceiling fixture. Which BTW is another argument for Lutron vs. Hue or other bulb manufacturers.
That's because you work for an electrical contractor as do I.
We had a guy building a 10ksq/ft house and the other company was pitching LumaStream throughout.
I like LumaStream and think they have a great product, but there is no way in hell I would wire my house with speaker wire to 800 can lights.
Now we are supposed to add POE to the mix and choose between traditional, LV with transformers, and now POE?
This is not a positive step for the industry.
