check for signal strength and orientation using tvfool.com and using antennaweb.org.
This issue first came up for me as two issues: DirecTV no longer carried CBS and the local CBS station had changed frequencies. At that time, tvfool did not show any OTA transmitter for CBS in Los Angeles, but within two days it was back. Rescanning brought the OTA signal back, and then a day or two ago CBS reappeared on DirecTV.
