Back to the dual SIM. I understand that the work is a local carrier. So my thought is to use the work as the main phone. Meaning the physical SIM will be the work number. Then the eSIM will be the personal.

I know it’s possible to have two carriers on the same phone. Physical for one and eSIM for the other.

For your case the eSIM may have to be the personal. Bring both phones to a Verizon and ask them if this possible. Or even to an Apple store.
