Don't forget that Dish allows the Hopper 3 and Joey's to be connected via CAT5/6/7 as well as wifi. Though I am not sure about 4k via wifi.

I currently have the Hopper 3 connected to the dish via coax, obviously. Then to wifi for the on demand and such. But I also have a traditional Joey 2 (not specially made wireless from Dish). Connected to the wifi via a Dish suppled dongle. All this using two Apple AirPort Extremes.

So far I haven't heard any complaints from the Joey user and it's been a year.

It does work via CAT5/6/7 as well, I just don't have it hooked up like that in this house.
