I am still around. Approaching 80. Still doing Home Theater and Home Automation. Today's project is to repair a Sub Zero Refrigerator that needs a new thermostat.

I use Pronto 9600's for the TV's in my bedrooms, and the Theater is controlled by a 9800. The main automation controller in the house is a Raspberry Pi programmed in Javascript Node. The main Theater controller is a very small PC (about 3"x3"x4") capable of 4K video. The PC gets its instructions from the 9800 over wi-fi, and the PC controls everything in the theater over IP. No IR, no RS-232, no RF.

The house has full audio control through Amazon Alexa there being an Alexa DOT in every room. The biggest problem with voice control is that I forget what I named things.
