We currently manage open items for our accounts using spreadsheets, but would like to move that process to a simple Web based system.

The spreadsheet contains a mix of feature requests, fixes, maintenance items, and tasks for new projects. A row of data in the spreadsheet might look like this:

Client: Smith
Project: NYC
Item Description: Family Room TV Upgrade
Room/Zone: Family Room
Application: Video
Details: Has 65" and wants 85". Bla bla bla
Next Step: Propose suitable model
Assigned To: Lead Tech

At any given time, we have 100 to 200 open items (i.e. rows) in total for around 15 different clients.

We do not have a separate ticketing system; incidents are entered into this spreadsheet as an open item.

We do not have a separate CRM system. Instead, we have this spreadsheet plus a file structure in Dropbox.

Again, all we want to do at this point is move our spreadsheet to a simple Web based program so that data will be easier to enter, manage, browse and report on. If that new software is capable of being a full blown CRM, then great, but right now simplicity is more important than power.

So, thoughts on a multiuser Web based task tracking system that is light weight and easy to use?

If it's not simple, it's not sufficiently advanced.
