If a HEOS Link is going to be used with a subwoofer, I can understand why it MIGHT NOT have a LP crossover, but if AVRs have one, why couldn't they include it in HEOS? Also, the line out has no HP crossover- are they assuming people will use dinky speakers that can't come close to the bass region?

Au contraire, mon frere. If they expect that dinky speakers are going to be used, they're ignorant if they aren't worried about blowing the woofers of said little guys.

I'd contact the company and ask them what they're thinking.

How hard would it be to include these? I doubt it would have been expensive (well, in the beginning, anyway).

It might have been prohibitive. The HP filter has to be at the right frequency for your speakers, so it has to be adjustable. It has to be turnoffable, so a switch has to be added for that. This is probably all done in software, but it's still something that most people probably aren't going to use.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
