My first TSU9600 used to wake up on its own incessently. I had it for a few years before it started doing this. It would get stuck in a loop doing this. As you described, performing a reset would break the cycle, but only for a time. My solution, lay the remote down on its face when not docked!

That being said, I was convinced the issue had something to do with the scroll wheel, specifically the original version of the scroll wheel. I’ve purchased a number of TSU9600’s since and made sure to always purchase one that had the updated scroll wheel, the same scroll wheel the TSU9400 uses. Have not encountered the issue since.
