So I have been working with with URC remotes since early 2007, I will never say I am a pro, but with a lot of reading and questions answered here in the forums I can say I can almost always achieve my goal. In 2013-17, I manage to use an MX980 and Mx5000 to control my whole house (UPB lighting, HAI Alarms, Locks, Window Shade, and of course my Media haven using an MSC400)/ I say this only to show that I have gone beyond just setting up my remote to control my TV and stuff, but for the last few months I have pulled on my beard for countless hours trying to understand, how to make the transition to an IP based setup.
This is my current list of Items I want to control
TV: LG 65UK7700 AVR: Denon AVR1912 Media: NVIDIA Shield Media Player: Oppo bluray PS3 via ir dongle
Everything on the list is connected to the internet. I currently have everything working just fine via IR, but at every attempt I make to get things working via IP I run into issues. Last night I had a mental breakthrough and managed to setup POPUP two way volume and mute. This works and is great, I can see from my remote what the volume status of the receiver is, but I can not turn the volume up or down without the remote being pointed in the direction of the Receiver. I believe this is because in the RF Control window, I can not set the Signal to RF or Network without having a base station; which is the popup I receive every time I try to set it. My receiver model is only supported in IR or Two way module, some of the models that came after have IP and IR corresponding data and the IR part works for it, but even after having mapped IP commands to certain buttons I get nothing. I am not even able to test to see an IP command will work. I have been stuck on this for a while, I have tried every avenue that I can think of, but nothing has worked. I am willing to share screen, call or maybe even BEAM myself to your location, just so I can get some understanding of what is going on and Why am I having such a hard time . Guys I am not looking for someone to setup my stuff for me , I am just looking for a few minutes of someones time to see what I am dealing with and to help me solve and understand.
