Too much of a good thing is bad. Eventually they must cut back. Remember Altec Lansing and Jensen? Lifetime warranties killed them before product usefullness ran its course.
Lifetime warranties are great ONLY if the cost to manufacture is low and the item is hard to damage. If they were making speakers that failed, it's their own fault, regardless of whether they made good products, or not. Somewhere, someone is always going to try to get a product repaired under that lifetime warranty well past the end of manufacture and then, the company has to come up with a suitable replacement.
