Thanks for the additional info on the Miccus unit. Range ins't a problem using the iPod touch that came with the Piano within the room where the piano is located, but the client want's to control the piano from the app installed on iPads which are located in other rooms.
One iPad is only about 40ft away, but the other is about 75ft away with lots of glass, mirror and other stuff in-between.
The iPod touch looses connected as soon as you leave the piano room. Sounds like the Miccus unit might solve the problem, but I'd need to contact the piano manufacturer first before modifying their setup.
Unless they're owned by Logitech or have some exclusive agreement, I don't know why they would have a problem with you improving the performance so it's actually useful in their home. That would be like saying "No! The range isn't good and that's the way it's gonna stay!".
