The Logitech BT receiver and all the other equipment you see in the photos under the piano wer installed by the piano manufacturer. The Piano comes with an iPod Touch as the user interface and BT range with the Logitech receiver was really poor.
It lost connection as soon as you moved out of the room where the piano was located.
Client would like to control the piano by installing the app on iPad minis that are in in iPort Surface and Table Mounts in the Kitchen and Sun Room but they're too far away to connect.
One of the iPads is about 40ft away and the other is closer to 70ft so I don't think there's any way to make it work over the BT interface. The Living Room where the piano is located is over 1000sq ft.
The reason I commented on the Logitech receiver is because I tried to use one and it was good for about 20', going through a single cinder block wall. I like a lot of Logitech's stuff, but that thing is only BT 2.0 and the Miccus is BT 5.0

I had no intention of using BT in that system but when they started whining about logging into the HEOS Link I wanted to use (because, at the time, consensus about BT was "IT SUCKS!"), my mind was changed when the school's gym teacher showed me that his ION amplified speaker (looks like a practice amp for guitar) worked over that distance. I went back, jumped online and read about BT, how it has changed and found the Miccus piece I wrote about. When it arrived, I connected it to my garage stereo and my iPhone, then started walking away as the music played. I fully expected it to start dropping out around 35' from the receiver, but t didn't. It didn't even drop out when I reached the end of my 105' driveway. I kept walking to the other side of the street- kept playing. I walked to the side, so my brick house was between the phone and BT receiver- it kept playing and never dropped out.
I thought the distance shown in the specs was BS, but I have received no complaints about it and it's the main source used in this system, aside from microphones.
When I tested it from a distance and could see the receiver from the other side of the street, I counted my steps as I walked back to the garage- I was 60 YARDS away! I really don't think 1000 ft² will be a problem.
It also has a detachable antenna- same kind as found on AVRs and many routers.
