The IEC-WP must be placed in a wall box, however it is just like any other NEMA style device (some with pug tails and some with screw terminals. I came up with it after my (then) wife complained about after she saw the extension cord hanging out of the laundry room ceiling (PJ to UPS), i went digging thru the garage to find a way to shut her up and saw the IEC power plug on the back of an old Compaq PC chassis. I removed it, went to Lowes and got a blank Decora plate, took both to the CnC shop at Metra and had them mated. Once I had it installed I thought "Damn" I need to be selling this.
Viola!

I used to make my own years ago before they became available. I used a Leviton white nylon power inlet and punched a hole in a single gang plate. I would usually put them at the rack so the display could be powered off of the same circuit and power conditioner as the source equipment and pre/pro in the rack. I used the twist-lock version.
