Why do you need to give the Ambient command while the TV is in Standby mode?

I just need an ambient mode command in some ir form. The remote that comes with the tv has a button for ambient mode. That remote is rf only.
I'm Not an engineer, but I play one on TV.
My handle is Tweety but I have nothing to do with the organization of similar name. I just had a really big head as a child so folks called me tweety bird.
