This sounds rather odd. Your time is worth something and that can be expressed in dollars and cents. If, right now, you put this thing in the trash and can bring yourself never to think of it again, how many minutes or hours of your life will you not waste thinking about it again?
A whole lot more than a quarter's worth. And more than the thing is worth.
