So I am a little fuzzy on the question, but assume you want to use the TV remote. The new amp, with HDMI-CEC enabled on the TV and the ARC connection between TV and the new amp, gives volume on the amp with the TV remote and displays it on the TV.

The thing that just occurred to me lately is that with a remote rack, you may need two HDMI extenders, one for signal from cable box to TV, and the other for ARC back to the amp.

A recent house I wired has RG6 to all TV locations. This allows smaller Comcast boxes velcroed to the back of the TV. I then had to run HDMI back to the rack location for the ARC connection from TV to AMP.

Unless I just don't understand...
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.
