I would assume you could use a monitor, they have an hdmi input...But I honestly don't know....but since they're so much more expensive, I just wouldn't do it.

A 19-23" Insignia is $60-$70.  Can't get too broken up about it when it dies in 3 years when it was only $60.   

I bought an Insignia for setting up analog HD surveillance cameras and it has come in handy for a lot of other things, too. I think it's 5 years old now and it has spent all of its time outside when I wasn't using it indoors, usually for only about an hour at a time but it has been in a house since last Friday and it seems happy enough. Might have cost $80- it has two HDMI and one analog input. My monitor is an LG refurb and it turns on/off automatically.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."
