Several 32" Samsung displays include proper controls and 1080p: DB32E, DM32E, PM32F. Move away from consumer lines,.. you will be glad you did.

Less than 32" you might check out broadcast style HDMI monitors with remote controls such as Marshall, SWIT, TVLogic, iKan, Totevision, Sony (OLED's are super nice) or Panasonic. You can get most of these native 1080p (with fiull resolution) down to about 5", and they look great.

Pretty much any monitor with HDMI in will work just fine as a TV, including computer displays.
