Before I moved to Mac, I was buying $500 ish laptops every 3-4 years and having to "refresh" them at least once a year. I bought my current Mac Book Pro in 2011 and it still works great to this day. It is definitely worth investing if it will last. Your laptop is a tool. How many times do you replace your drill?

I’m not talking about $500 laptop. But I’m also not talking about a 2000-3500 laptop. $1000-1250 is more then sufficient for what we do. We don’t need a performance:graphic oriented system.

I7 with 16gigs of ram is more then fine. My 6 year old t430 is fine except for the network port, and it’s starting to get a bit slow. But that’s just planned obsolescence..

I don’t replace drills, I buy Festool 😁
