Selling, giving, or loaning an LP and never getting it back is legal. What is not legal is to make a copy of an LP, tape, or CD, then selling the original media while keeping the copy.
I don't think that there is an issue with Murfie pulling rip data from a file, rather than freshly ripping each item that is sent to them, however, selling a copy to a person who did not own the media is a problem. The original Napser was slippery on this point and got into a little trouble.
