Has anyone used their own router with Rogers ignite TV or Xfinity for you boys south of the border?

I set the WAN IP of customers router (10.0.0.2) to a static IP within subnet of Rogers Gateway 10.0.0.1

Within Rogers Gateway put my router 10.0.0.2 in a DMZ

Internet works for about 24 hours (sometimes less) before things seem to stop working. Customer then reboots both and internet works.

Does this configuration make sense? How would you guys approach this? Rogers Gateway could be bridged, but I believe this would stop the TV service from working as the set top boxes are connect to rogers gateway on 5 Port gigabit switch..

Thanks
