Don't bother.

I would swap out the HDMI extender set with a version that has audio back channel, typically optical. Then use a DAC to go from optical to analog input on your amp.

That way, no matter what the TV displays, it will output sound to your analog amp. Also, don't forget to set the TV's audio output to PCM 2.0.
