I am Richard Reisbick. I got into this industry by accident way back in 1986 after designing medical laser systems and oil field monitoring systems (crazy match there) when I needed to hook up some equipment in my home and just couldn't find the equipment anywhere to do it.
I don't really know how to design anything, I just fake it (I was told that by the boys that bought my original company so it must be true).
So... I thought that since I don't know how to design equipment and I thouroghly enjoy this crazy industry I would just start another company (Avocation Systems) and build stuff for everyone else because I really am incompetent at doing the install.
With that said I have found it very interesting to see how problems are resolved in these forums. I was encouraged by others to put my two cents into them instead of just reading them.
Background includes: CEDIA Founding company (company I sold) Designer of a few hundred a/v products (mostly commercial/professional) Forever self-employed because I don't play well with others (so I've been told)
