You're sounding a bit like westom. "so many say not to ground" meaning exactly who? And where are the quotes or links so we can add our understanding to yours instead of shooting in the dark?
Are they talking about audio cables? THOSE do well to have a shield grounded at only one end.
And WHAT DOES THE MANUFACTURER SAY TO DO? I mean EXACTLY what have they said to do? Maybe they think they wrote something clear but it's not clear to you! That happens, you know. Read my friggin' signature.
