Brent and I talk about this all the time. There's a lot of "specmanship" that is great marketing but not reality.
HDBaseT has a max capability of 10.2G bandwidth ceiling. In order to send what Hollywood deems as "high value" content in Ultra HD Premium or HDR10, it requires a minimum of 4:2:0 10 bit. The only way to get this stated 18G capability is with compression.
The two standards are display stream compression (DSC) or color sample compression (CSC).
Many companies state 4:4:4, etc and don't say what bit rate they support.
