As to number 8, it would be very difficult to obtain product reliability data from private companies, if they bother to track it at all. You would need inside info and someone with a passing interest in inferential statistics to make it meaningful. Public companies on the other hand would be much easier, material disclosure etc. Think Takata airbags, GM ignition, Ford tire issue on the Explorer, Ford Pinto gas tank. When this happens to public companies it is always a bad sign, unfortunately.
3. It’s not the requirement of fees, they can deal with that, it’s the sudden withdrawal of the feature. “Now my SONOS does not function because Alexa is no longer allowed.” That’s the main reason I bought it! The sound is a given.
