Yes, 250 uses 2.5mm vs 3.5mm on every other base on the market from every other manufacturer. It's infuriating when swapping one out.
They made a mistake! They got the production samples from the factory and tested them exhaustively. They all met the specs. They were approved for ordering.
But they neglected a simple thing, which the OEM's engineers overlooked, too: they saw the little jacks used for the LEDs and assumed they were the same size as those on all other products. They didn't actually try to stick an LED from previous products into them. They weren't the same. Oops.
That small mistake is still pissing people off.
