There's gotta be a setting. It's insane. Today I had the system on while we were doing some weeding after work. I bent down to pull a weed out of the ground and my phone was in my pocket. The volume ramper up all the way.
I just looked in my MusicCast settings- press on the Settings gear, look for App Settings and scroll down- mine shows 'Control volume with iOS buttons' (I have an iPhone 6).
