MiBox uses the same 3W whether Sleeping (off) or Idle (on). There is no true power off unless you unplug the power supply. Since there is zero power savings in off mode, all you really need to do is send a couple of Home or Back commands when you're done watching and let it idle to sleep. That's what I do with my macros that run my streaming devices.

For those who are interested, the MiBox has no transport controls, only Power, Home, Menu, Back, OK, Arrows and Volume.
