An update:
I bought the Jasco remote and it works fine with my MiBox.
I used my MX780 to learn the commands and the learning process went just fine, so, with high hopes, I went to my system and "$h#%t" - everything turned on but the MiBox, and the MX780 would not operate the "thingy".
I tried learning codes again- the MX780 says learning is OK but it does not operate the MiBox..
I am thinking of calling the URC tech support and asking if they could "investigate" this "mystery" box.
After all, if a $5 Jasco remote can operate it why the URC's $300 remotes cannot?
When teaching the mx-780, in record box, instead of using the second remote symbol, which you only teach the remote once per command, go to the fourth remote symbol named "LEARN 1", teach it, then teach it again use "LEARN 2". See if this helps.
