some ir remotes send alternating codes for the same command. it is nearly impossible to learn these commands. you will find that if you do capture the command, it only works every other time you press the button.
I re-tested teaching my MX-500 from the GE/Jasco remote. Nope. Nada. No matter how many key-presses. Meanwhile a user on Flirc forums showed up in a thread of mine in the JP1 forums and says
The protocol doesn't have toggle bit. It encodes two bits per burst-gap pair but this shouldn't be a problem for a learning remote.
