I'm unfamiliar with the in depth workings of universal remotes, and I need help with a very specific situation...

I have an HDMI switcher,, but I lost the remote it came with. Ihave a spare PHAZR-5 remote that my cable company gave me, and I wanna know how I can set it up to work with my switcher. Can someone help me please? The more in depth explanation, the better. Thank you!
