because the TV's we install are generally already connected to the network.
the IP/RS232 protocol is far more expansive than the IR. For example, we can push the TV to ANY app the client wants a hotkey for.
We get feedback on Volume, power status and even Input switches.
in a secondary room with a Samsung TV, DirecTV Sat box and a Bluesound Soundbar, I dont need to add anything to that room to add it to the control system. I drop the IP's into Composer or Racepoint and that room is now controlled through their ipads.
Theres no emitter to fall off or get moved.
