I’ve never sold Denon, but of course run into lots of it in the field. I always used a multi channel surround mode for music, and they have a simple code called standard that always seem to engage Dolby digital. The new receivers seem to have toggles and nothing in the database for a current model seems to have discretes for those two surround modes. Can you point me in the right direction? Thank you!

They have an Option button that shows about 6 options, which DO NOT include Large Hall, Small Hall, Jazz Club, etc (FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), just Stereo, DTS, Neural and a few others. It's really not a terrible way to go- sure beats the crap out of wading through options that don't matter.

Denon does have a full set of discrete commands that can be e-mailed- they're all in HEX.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."
