MIL, who is mid 80's, has basic internet that runs $19.99 per month. She is old school, so she mails her checks in well in advance of the due by date.
Gets a letter telling her that her payment is overdue, and the late fee will be $35.00.
After hours of calls, it turns out that Spectrum had the check in hand, THEIR records show it arriving, but never sent it through to the bank for processing.
Even after that finding, they want to charge her the $35.00 late fee.
Exasperated, she tells some dummy, "I'm not paying that! Y'all can sue me.".
Hasn't heard another peep.
