With a couple Samsung TV's I noticed an interaction between BD-Wise and AnyNet. In order to completely shut down CEC, I had to disable both and they were not on the same Menu page. I also recall that there was a right and wrong sequence to this.
I'm not surprised that a firmware update mucked with things.
