Hundreds of units over the last decade and I know of roughly 10 that have failed, two in the same house that failed at the same time due to a defective TI chip. Almost every single system we put in has a Furman line conditioner and we are typically using upper-mid to high end Pioneer Elite receivers in so no idea what the lower end of Pioneer's line is like.

If one were to sell Pioneer, then the Elite units would have been the only way to go. They were built to better standards than the regular Pioneer and usually featured better components. So not surprising, also better performance.

BUT! The last few years when I have looked at the Pioneer Elite stuff, it does not look like they still do that anymore. It looks like just regular Pioneer stuff with an Elite badge, added warranty, and that is about it. The few I have installed for customers in that last few years, all seemed to follow that assumption by me.
