The guy that bumped the thread just wanted to help by giving instructions on what he did, that worked to fix his unit.
I really don't see anything wrong with that, it continued the thread on its original intent. And it is still relevant to someone searching for an answer, as there are likely MANY of those receivers out there - because they were so dirt cheap (dirt cheap for a reason).
