a)is a new member so he hasn't seen how pissed off we get at ourselves when we comment on an old old thread just because we didn't notice how old it was before some newbie resurrected it and then we added our comments, and
b)I think (a) just about covers it.

That said, when I started earning my keep in audio in late 1970, the industry was reeling from massive use of some of the earliest ICs, I believe made by Fairchild. ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of those ICs failed when the amps or receivers got warm enough for long enough.

And that said, Pioneer equipment seems to be toys on the rare occasion that I run across them.
