Been using Pioneer (mostly Elite) for many years and have had very few issues...far less than Denon or Yamaha ever gave us. That's not to say there wasn't a few models that had issues, but those were typically due to manufacturing issues of internal components that Pioneer could not have foreseen. I do agree the online firmware was touchy and found downloading was a much better solution.
