A restaurant brewery currently uses an inexpensive WD media player to play extreme sports video from an external hard drive connected by USB. It work pretty well but freezes up every once in a while.

The device has been discontinued and they need something similar for the new restaurant. What would you recommend that can play all day? Different video formats. My first though was a USB port on a bluray player but I don't know how reliable that it. Bonus would be something with discrete command to automate turning off and start playing videos whenever needed. 1080p resolution is all that's needed. And analogue audio. Thanks!
