Well, you need to get your terminology right if you want to be taken (un)seriously. It's not 'DeathCon', it's 'DeafCon'. Also, you'll need some kind of cable if you want the signal to pass through those 3" walls, so maybe you could get some S-Video cables and couplers, so you don't get dragged into orbit when the missiles launch.
You might look into some X-10 lamp modules, if you really want to make this communication system expandable. Being assignable, security shouldn't be a problem.
As far as a browser, AOL may be available.
