That’s what I would do, the ESC units are pretty cheap and if the project doesn’t need all the extra connection ports, this is a lot cheaper then getting an XP8-S, but you still get to keep the superior processing. It makes a pretty big difference in performance with 2-way drivers for sure.
I think I was at around 28 to 30 megs memory usage and I was clocking about 30 to 35% CPU usage at peak. This is was my first RTI system since the days of the RP6 and the T2C, I must say I was pretty impressed with the performance I got... GUI responsiveness and overall feel. Not really a fan of the KX 7 or 10,... resistive touchscreens work well as handhelds, but I don’t like them as an I wall option. I’ll probaly use iPads in future projects as the GUI runs soo smooth.
