Had this happen with a MX-890, talked to URC said it was a bad remote. Tried a new one same thing. Talked to the IT consultant we use at the office, he deleted the files in "C:\Windows\Temp" and "C:\Program Files (x86)\Universal Remote Control, Inc\Complete Control Program\Temp" and it has worked ever since. Might be worth a try.
