Bought house about 16 years ago. Little old lady that owned it never had cable so it was never run to the house. Big old antenna was there. I used sat dishes for awhile, both paid and FTA. For about the last 10 years we have used an antenna and some form of streaming / downloading service. Yes some of it was in a grey area. Now streaming services are well established, and most are also available on this side of the border without having to use some IP blocking service it is much easier. Netflix, Crave TV, Amazon Prime and antenna with Channel Master DVR seem to give us plenty to enjoy. Roku and Apple TV boxes work great, plus there are also a lot of other "apps" that offer older programming or unique channels. Not like it is totally free, the monthly subscription fees start to add up but it is a better way to watch TV programming. Only OTA programming has you tied to a schedule and the DVR can take care of that. Everything else can be watched at your leisure. Even Channel Master is coming out with a streaming box that looks like it will combine your OTA with your streaming services.
