CAT7 uses individually shielded pairs plus an overall shield and terminated with a special design RJ45 (GC45) or a TERA connector. It's primary market is europe, where they have adopted a shielded product as the standard. Last time i looked Siemon was the only major manufacturer offering a CAT7 system. The TIA skipped CAT7 and went straight to CAT8, many manufacturers have been talking about releasing products, we have yet to run across it with any of our data center contractors, who would typically be the first to spec it into a build.
